Melanie and I met once a month through her pregnancy to document her growth. Since she was focused on her postpartum fitness and results, we opted for more harsh "athletic" lighting over the usual soft maternity look.
It goes without saying, the way a mother’s body adapts to grow a little human is awe inspiring. The work Melanie put in afterwards to get back into fighting shape is inspiring as well. And more importantly, her purple hair looked awesome with my rim lighting. Thanks to the Barretts for including me in their journey!
I caught up with Taurell and Will the morning after Taurell’s going away party. I was just going to snap a couple of shots of them hanging out, but instead I gravitated around them as they talked for hours. I’m pretty certain they forgot I was there. We should all be as passionate about our careers as they are about filling your bellies with masterpieces in a glass. These are some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken. I’d like to think I take image capture as seriously as these guys take their craft.
As part of our first project together, Rickey and I took this picture for a sales brochure promoting his custom furniture work. Rickey hand picks each piece of wood he uses to create rustic/industrial furniture. Based on a “Made to Order” business model, Rickeys work is truly unique.

We took this shot after these guys kicked ass on stage at Mahall’s.
I always feel at home covering events. From celebrations to political, having worked for years in event production, figuring out where to be and when is second nature.
